While some consider a four-leaf clover as a good-luck charm, it is the three-leaf clover that is a true Irish symbol. The popular shamrock symbol was originally associated with the Celtic goddess Ana (or Anu) and St. Patrick is believed to have used the symbol to promote the Holy Trinity.
